UBS supports the Grand Labour of Casa da Criança Nossa Senhora do Desterro

On 13 December 2024, members of UBS Brazil visited Casa da Criança in Jundiaí to learn about the work of the Nossa Senhora do Desterro Children’s Home, an institution that has dedicated more than 90 years to the protection and well-being of children in vulnerable situations.

During the visit, the UBS team had the opportunity to tour the facilities, interact with the children and learn about the programmes and activities offered by the institution. They also helped unload the donated products and participated in a guided tour to learn about the work carried out by the organisation.

The Nossa Senhora do Desterro Children’s Home was founded in 1931 with the aim of offering support and protection to disadvantaged children. Over more than nine decades, the institution has taken in thousands of children, providing them not only with a safe home, but also with the educational and emotional support necessary for their development. Today, the institution cares for children of various ages, providing a stable and familiar environment that allows them to grow up in a safe environment, fostering their physical, social and emotional development.

Why was this institution chosen?

The decision to make a donation to the Nossa Senhora do Desterro Children’s Home was based on the admirable work the institution does for the most vulnerable children. What products were donated?

As part of its contribution, UBS donated essential products for the well-being of children. On this occasion, sweets, milk and panettone were delivered, with the aim of contributing to the comfort and nutrition of the little ones cared for by the institution. These foods not only provide nutrients, but also a touch of warmth and joy during the festive season, helping to make their daily lives a little more special.
