In bottle or cartridge format. UBS inks ensure the highest resolution and quality in marking. Our team of chemical engineers has created the perfect blends for our printers, designed to optimize usage and adapt to each customer’s needs. Depending on the material and printing surface characteristics, one type of ink may be more appropriate than another. Before reviewing the UBS catalog, we will break down the common features of the different products.
All UBS inks are free from animal-derived glycerins and dispersants. None of the formulas contain NVC, ITX or pyrrolidones. The first is a toxic inhalation substance that can cause respiratory damage. ITX is a photoinitiator that can contaminate food by migration, while pyrrolidones are cyclic resins that may cause poisoning if inhaled or ingested. At UBS, we avoid these types of substances that may be toxic to humans.
Additionally, both oil‑based and water‑based inks formulated with solvents feature optimised stability of viscosity and surface tension parameters. All of them also ensure maximum contrast in colour fidelity. Another essential factor of our products is their low migration, particularly relevant for printing on packaging for food products.
Sustainability is fundamental and depends on us. It is up to us to embrace a sustainable culture, not only in our direct activity but also by working with conscious suppliers to care for the planet while ensuring the best quality results.

In bottle format, UBS offers oil‑based inks or UVLED inks, specifically for this printing technology.
Oil‑based inks are especially recommended for box coding, as they can print on all types of porous substrates. The ECO formula of this dye type makes them suitable for recycling corrugated cardboard, which helps protect the environment. They are available in 1 000 ml bottles. They offer instant drying and are odourless. They can be applied in black, red, blue and green, among others. They should be stored at between 10 °C and 35 °C in a dry, clean environment.
Oil‑based inks can be used in the full range of APLINK printers. They are resistant to warping and extreme temperatures. Additionally, they contain no VOC organic compounds that can easily become vapours or gases.
The UVLED inks are specially designed for use with this printing technology, present in several UBS printer ranges. Thus, they are suitable for coding both products and boxes, as they can print on any type of material.
They are sold in 1 000 ml bottles and available in the same colours as oil‑based inks. They feature instant drying through polymerisation and contain no VOC organic compounds. The mechanical performance is consistent and the ideal storage conditions are between 10 °C and 35 °C in a dry, clean environment.
Like bottle inks, cartridge inks are available for UVLED technology. In addition, there are classic water‑based and HP 2.5 solvent inks. Both types come in black and other colours upon request. The containers are 40 ml.
Water‑based cartridges can be used on any porous substrate. Therefore, they are ideal for cardboard box coding. In contrast, solvent‑based ones are suitable for any type of surface. While the first dry instantly, solvent inks dry quickly depending on the surface. They require a higher temperature than bottle inks, between 20 °C and 35 °C.
Like UVLED bottle inks, cartridge versions can be used on any type of surface: glass, cardboard, paper, wood, metal, plastic, painted materials… They dry instantly through polymerisation and should be stored in a clean, dry place at a temperature of between 20 °C and 35 °C.
